The Beginning
The First Baptist Church of Astor began as a mission in 1948 by Stetson University ministry student Earl Joiner. The congregation purchased an old building for in 1953, became a separate church on December 8, 1963, and built the current sanctuary on June 27, 1982.

January 9, 2011: The church opens a new Family Life Center.
December 2013: Ground is broken and completed on a new sanctuary building to serve the church family.
